I've been playing with it using an old version of ispell hacked to
produce AbiWord dictionaries, but I haven't had any luck.  I could side
tracked with other PRs, and GNOME testing.  

If you want to help, grab a version of ispell 3.1, and see if you can
get the dictionaries it produces to work.
