SNMP and MRTG ap prolly the kind of tools you would like. You can use an adition to SNMP (Simple Network Managemnet Protocol) available at http://www.plugcom.ru/~vova/ipfw-snmp.tgz to snmp enable your IPFW accounting rules. You can then use MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher) on a diffrent box to poll the gateway and generare graphs of the usage you are asking for.
