Hhmm. How -current is your 3.0? I now have two contradicting answers,
one saying that the cards stalls, you are saying it works. To be sure we
are talking about the same card, mine is deteced as

ed0 at 0x300-0x31f irq 10 maddr 0xd0000 msize 16384 on isa
ed0: address 00:00:c0:5b:21:a8, type SMC8216/SMC8216C (16 bit)
