The 1U server market is indeed hot (pun intended). Take a look at the new 1400 series from iXsystems (www.ixsystems.net -- formerly BSDi, formerly Telenet) and the Dell 1550. I've tested both systems and was impressed by both. If you're buying more than a few machines, Dell has some very aggressive pricing. Unless space is ridiculously scarce, you can get much better cooling and reliability with a 2U unit.
