Interesting.  I recently switched from a Matrox Millenium II 8M PCI card
to a Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (TNT2 Ultra chipset), and honestly can't
see a difference in image quality (I'm running at 1600x1200 w/ 16bpp and
have been for as long as I can remember... several years).  And I
considered the Matrox card one of the better 2D cards around when I
bought it.  My monitor is a Viewsonic PT813.  Makes me wonder if there's
a Windows driver issue (I don't have any Microsoft stuff on my
machines).
