The role:
My client is a well-respected multinational organisation based in Feltham, =
and they require the services of an experienced FreeBSD Kernel Developer on=
 an initial 6 month contract. The area of the business you will be working =
for specialises in; delivering collaboration infrastructure, call controls,=
 gateways and conferencing bridges in a tightly integrated solution, alongs=
ide clients and endpoints that together produce an enterprise-grade collabo=
ration experience.

Responsibilities of the role;
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0You will have strong knowledge and experience of develo=
ping, debugging and maintaining FreeBSD kernel and drivers.
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Be able to quickly adapt to work within a small, tightl=
y knit team of high calibre engineers
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Be familiar with revision control tools, concepts, etc.
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0The candidate should understand how an application inte=
racts with the OS, how to maximise performance, be able to benchmark effect=
ively to find and address bottlenecks.
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0You will be expected to develop and deliver significant=
 features independently as well as work closely with colleagues in collabor=
ative tasks.
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Responsible for the modification and testing of existin=
g kernel/driver code to take it to a production level of quality (maintaina=
ble, robust, stable).

Professional Expertise;
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0FreeBSD kernel and driver expertise is essential ( 5 ye=
ars +).
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Network programming (for example, TCP/IP, streaming pro=
tocols, HTTP or RTP).
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Strong C programming knowledge/experience in a multithr=
eaded/event-driven environment.

Desired Skills;
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Software and System Performance Benchmarking.
-=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Device Drivers development.
