If you are using a ps/2 mouse, make sure that the line

device psm0 at isa? port "IO_KBD" conflicts tty irq12 vector psmintr

uncommented in your kernel config file. It works for most ps/2 on-board
connector.
Comment your device mse0 line from the kernel.

When running xf86config (either from sysinstall or directly), define
your mouse as /dev/psm0

I'm not sure if S3 3D virge is supported, but i think the monitor is OK.
BTW checkout the documentation about vga cards supported by X11 and how
to configure it. (it also depends on your XWin version)
