I imagine that sysinstall gets a list of storage devices from the kernel, then attempts to open each one. Only /dev/aacd0-3 exist by default, so aacd4-5 cannot be opened because no entries exist. If I'm right, then this might not be easy to work around, since I doubt that mknod is available to the 'Emergency holographic shell'. Maybe sysinstall can be taught how to create devices in this situation; I'll look into it later. The error about cd0 is most likely unrelated.
