Did you expect a quick response at 2am in the morning?  :)

Anyway...
What exactly is the page fault that you are receiving on bootup?  
When does it happen?  
Does it happen if you boot into single user?
Did you build the new kernel before or after you rebooted, after making
world?

Maybe this questions can help pinpoint the problem.
