In my experience, we've had more : problems with the pizza compiler than the Solaris compiler. Specifically, I have a large code on which javac will loop in the presence of most kinds of syntax errors. Pizza does not deal well with circular interface dependencies, so that I have typically needed to bootstrap with javac, but thereafter pizza has been the more direct route to solution.
