You're trying to build a -current kernel with a -stable (or earlier)
system. The two don't mix. In order to compile a -current kernel on a
non-current system, you'll need the -current config too... Of course,
the kernel won't work if you try booting it as the interface to the
kernel for a lot of programs (sysctl springs to mind as a very good
example) has changed in -current.
