Thank you very much btw for a great release. I may have missed some obvious places to look for answers as I was doing the install, but here are things I got confused about. I have no idea where to find the doc on the fixit floppy. I thought I looked in the handbook, faq and used man and locate? I think the -c option should be the default on the boot floppy the first time it is booted. I could have fixed many of the problems I had during installation if I had understood what I could do with the -c option: I redid the installation when the first kernel hung as it tried to switch to sd0a. My scsi card was set to a nonstandard irq.... I have had continuing problem with setting the media type as CDROM in sysinstall. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes it would not find the cdrom. I would mount it and then unmount it and finally it would work, I did not find a pattern. I haven't done anything with sysinstall.debug Overall it was a much easier and more understandable installation than any other OS I've used. thanks \t -------- Terry Braun tab@talking.talking.com Talking Networks, Inc. 510-525-6696
