Hello there, maybe someone can help me. I've a linux box installed with two brand new Adaptec 2940-U2W controllers, with on each a Quantum Viking II 9.1GB U2W hard disk. I installed an "old" version of the scsi driver, (5.1.4), and it reported a synchronous transfer speed of 20.0 MB/sec, what was pretty low. But yesterday, I upgraded to the 5.1.7 driver, and now I get the synchronous transfer at 40.0 MB/sec. However, it should work at 80.0 MB/sec (otherwise, U2W is pretty expensive compared to UW, isn't it? ). But I don't know how to change it. You can have a look at the logs below, each Quantum drive is connected to address 0 on host 0 and host 1. Something seems strange: the ultra flag is not set for any of the disks. perhaps it's the source of the problem... what can I do ?
