I'd like to add a voice of reason to this debate; I've had disagreements with core members commit policy in the past. Although I still disagree with core on that issue, and felt very hot-blooded about it at the time I elected not to make a public issue out of it for a number of reasons, the foremost being that sometimes even the best of people just disagree with each other. It has became clear to me by and by that core has "some of the best people". Core is not a gaggle of project administrators with nothing better to do, they are programmers; talented or prolific and occasionally both. Further when discussing my commit disagreements with core I was struck by the thought, diplomacy and humour core (particularly Jordon, despite his claims of not being able to pull punches) put into replying. It is possible to disagree on an issue with people you respect without loosing your respect for them on all issues and this is an important point to remember. Jordon, please don't take the flaming to heart. I truly appreciate the work you have done even if I have disagreed with you on other issues from time to time. -- Prof. Julian Assange |If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people |together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks proff@iq.org |and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless proff@gnu.ai.mit.edu |immensity of the sea. -- Antoine de Saint Exupery
