I once bought an nvidia because of it's FreeBSD support. After about three months I realized that they didn't really support FreeBSD all that well. The drivers were old, and frequently kept me from upgrading my kernel. I was also getting a lot of kernel panics. I switched to ATI and have never looked back. The drivers are open source, and support the functionality I need. They don't support the latest HD5xxx cards, but that's okay because I'm perfectly happy running HD4xxx cards. -- David Johnson
