To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Date: Mon, 16 Nov 1998 19:08:11 -0600 (CST) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4ME+ PL38 (25)] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm currently attempting to install FreeBSD 3.0 onto the following system: PII-300 w/ 128mb ram, 16.8GB HD (split into 2 ~8G partitions), CD-R, CD, Sound/Video card, TV Tuner, Ethernet card (10tbase) and 2 SCSI cards (1 is for a HP Scanner, the other is for the CD-R) I downloaded all the necessary files from the ftp site, made a boot disk and thought I was good to go. However, when I was ready to install, I pointed the media type to the CD-R drive. That didn't work (error: Couldn't find the distributions), I then pointed it to the other 1/2 of the HD and got the same error. I then tried FTP & Passive FTP, both times getting "unable to resolve ftp.freebsd.org". I then tried installing from one hard drive to the other (using /tools/setup.exe). However, this kicked out "inf.bin .bin is corrupt!"). Anyone have any suggestions of how to fix the above problem or any ideas of what I'm not doing right?
