The Enterprise Pack installer is inspecting the first string in the stdout of a "java -version" command. It is expecting a value of the form "1.5.0_nn" where "nn" corresponds to the JDK Update Level. So the installer refuses to proceed It is not clear if the output of "java -version" is a part of the comptability tests (I suspect it isn`t) But it would seem to be a good idea to change the output of "java -version" to conform to what the Netbeans installer expects. This has been filed as issue 76562 with Netbeans [[2]]. Discussion has occurred on the nbusers mailing list [[3]] -- [[1]] http://us1.mirror.netbeans.org/download/5_5/beta/200605090801/netbeans-5_5-entpack-as-jbi-am-linux.sh [[2]] http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=76562 [[3]] news://news.gmane.org:119/e4hoq3$iek$1@sea.gmane.org >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
