Hi I got a Exabyte 8200 and had problems like you. It was fixed after 3.0-RELEASE and is working fine now . /Johan zoonie <zoonie@myhouse.com> on 99-01-28 14:58:22 To: stable@FreeBSD.ORG cc: (bcc: Johan Granlund/Solid AB) Subject: exabyte 8200 & CAM what's the current status of CAM and the exabyte 8200 tape drive? i got a new disk drive for my workstation and i decided to install 3.0-RELEASE on it only to find out that the tape drive will not work so i can't put my data on the new drive. i looked through the mailing list archives and i found out that it was a problem after wondering why the drive did not work even though it was recognized (i know, i should have read the release notes first). i can work around it by installing the old drive and mounting the partitions with the data i need to copy it over, but i really need to do backups of other machines. does it work in 3.0-STABLE? if CAM still doesn't work with the 8200 i'll just have to install 2.2.8 and wait....thanks.....
