The only way to get java working within Mozilla is to use the Linux mozilla binary and the Linux java binary. Both can be installed from ports /usr/ports/www/linux-mozilla /usr/ports/java/linux-jdk13 You will then need to symlink the linux plugin (see below) in the mozilla plugin directory: /usr/local/linux-jdk1.3.1/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so* -Burhan Remington L. wrote: > Delivered-To: postmaster@swansea.cableinet.net > Delivered-To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org > Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2002 09:27:47 -0800 > From: "Remington L." <madriax@garlic.com> > User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020309 > X-Accept-Language: en-us > To: freebsd-questions <freebsd-questions@freeBSD.org> > Subject: Mozilla 0.9.8 and jdk1.3.1 > List-ID: <freebsd-questions.FreeBSD.ORG> > List-Archive: <http://docs.freebsd.org/mail/> (Web Archive) > List-Help: <mailto:majordomo@FreeBSD.ORG?subject=help> (List Instructions) > List-Subscribe: <mailto:majordomo@FreeBSD.ORG?subject=subscribe%20freebsd-questions> > List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:majordomo@FreeBSD.ORG?subject=unsubscribe%20freebsd-questions> > X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG > Precedence: bulk > > I encountered this error after i install mozilla .0.9.8 on FBSD 4.5-R-p2: > LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library > /usr/local/jdk1.3.1/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so [Cannot > open "/usr/local/jdk1.3.1/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so"] > > I didnt install jdk1.3.1 from my ports, is that whats causing this error > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
