    Truth is that telling someone to do or to avoid something, not
    telling them why (giving an example), turns the advice into a dogma,
    and I don't think that's very useful. Because even if you convince
    them (not) to do something, they'll continue repeating it without a
    thought, and when the actual circumstances change, no one notices.
    This happens a lot with people assuming code that's long been
    replaced and so on.
