How does this sndio backend compare to using the BSD reimplementation of
alsalib to use PortMidi's ALSA backend? I understand not all BSDs have a
reimplementation of alsalib, so IIUC sndio is more portable. On systems whe=

both is available, are there practical benefits to one or the other?
