So : - what sort of tape? - what sort of disk(s)? - what sort of SCSI controller? - is your SCSI bus installed and terminated correctly? ARE YOU VERY SURE? - which version of FreeBSD are you running? - how are you performing the backup? - what does "hanging up" mean? This is not a technical term. - What other symptoms do you see?
