Seriously, why do so many people buy junk because it's cheap, and then expend massive effort trying to get it to work. Isn't your time worth anything ?? When I shop for hardware, I look to see if it's supported under ALL the environments I plan to use it under, and I DON'T buy things from companies I KNOW didn't make it. If no company wants to put their name on it, doesn't that tell you guys anything ?? I realize the CD-ROM you're talking about is from "Acer". But Acer is a bottom feeder. They buy the cheapest crap on the market and put it in their boxes. They test it with WinBlows and perhaps DOS. The attempt to deliver whatever functionality they can at the lowest possible price. They are aiming their products at people who foolishly shop on price alone. Ok, now that that's off my chest...
