I presumed you'd tested it.. in fact I was led to believe you had..
I just compiled it.
I have no sparc I can reboot.

I'm more worried about the ia64 patch.

As a sidebar, in my opinion sparc is irrelevant except as a porting
exercize to keep the code clean.  I think it is damaging to the project
to have it a tier 1 architecture. In case no-one has noticed the sparc
comes with a unix OS already, so the market is miniscule. techncally
nice, but basically irrelevant to the success of the project except as a
roadblock to progress. Anyhow that's just my opinion. Others are free to
disagree (and obviously do). (Nothing personal, just my opinion on
where we should be placing sparc stuff in he overall priority list.)
