By looking at default linux-jdk installation, their jni.h has: /* jni_md.h contains the machine-dependent typedefs for jbyte, jint and jlong */ #include "jni_md.h" which is the same as our bsd port. So I assume this is the standard way of doing it (ie, to change your Makefile).
