If you have a WinModem, it won't work under FreeBSD.  It is not a true =
modem

- it uses software emulation to imitate the behaviour of a real =
hardware
modem,=20
and software to support this is not available for FreeBSD.  (Does =
anyone
know
if it's WIP?).  Some internal ISA modems are true modems, but chances =
are
you have a WinModem - sorry :o(

You would be best off getting an external modem (which are all
"real"), and forgetting about the internal one.
