My problem is that I cannot get the cy0 device to compile in my kernel (at least it doesn't show up in dmesg. Here's what I did, and if anyone can tell me something I might try to get it to work, I am listening. 1) Card is installed 2) applied patch 3) did ./MAKEDEV from the /dev dir to make devices 4) cp'ed cy_pci* files to the /usr/src/sys/pci directory 5) changed ownership of these files to root and wheel 6) made them same perms as others -rw-rw-r-- 7) added device cy0 to kernel file just above my de0 device for ethernet 8) recompiled kernel (about 5 times acutally) 9) rebooted with reboot after compile finishes Still no cyclades! What are my options? Is the cyclades card bad? Should I build a whole new and differently named kernel from GENERIC and not eliminate anything to see if it is probing? Can I probe the device manually? At this point, I will try almost anything. ........................................ . Bill Beavers, Technology Coordinator . .
