However, even though vt basically works, the modes it automatically chooses are far from usable from my point of view: The text is far too small to be conveniently read. Also the colors seem to be "wrong" and of low contrast (compared to sc, that is, on the same hardware). The "just works" feeling somehow has been lost... :-( Basically, I'd like to know if it is possible to configure vt in a way that it displays a 80x25 text mode with whatever font. I don't even mind if the "drawing characters" (pseudographic block characters for boxes, such as in the Midnight Commander) stopped working long time ago, especially in combination with the use of german Umlauts and Eszett (=F6=E4=FC =D6=C4=DC and =DF) - UTF-8 vs. ISO-8859-1 in text mode is a totally different problem. If I have to select from a plethora of fonts, I don't mind, but I'd like to know beforehand _which_ font, and what other parameters I have to adjust in order to get vt starting to work like sc did for decades. Is that easily possible? Experimental system is FreeBSD/i386 10.3-p22 (held current with freebsd-update). --=20 Polytropon Magdeburg, Germany Happy FreeBSD user since 4.0 Andra moi ennepe, Mousa, ...
