Check the fans on both processors and make sure the fans are of good quality. Many weird freeze ups that I've seen on dual processor machines are due to bad cooling. (The processors run hotter in SMP mode 'cos FreeBSD doen't use the "hlt" instruction to reduce power consumption in SMP mode). > I know the AMD 'MP' processors are fairly new, has the SMP support in > FreeBSD been designed to support this family of processors? People have been running various versions of the Dual AMDs for a while and I don't think there are any problems known. David.
