If you can get your hands on one that doesn't have an 'A' in it's part 
number that's better (i.e. 2940 is better than 2940A, etc.)

Don't know about the rest, but IDE CD-ROMs are a pain, especially if you 
don't have an IDE disk. Go for a SCSI CD-ROM, since you already have the 
SCSI controller.
