(can not swap to /dev/ad0s1b, newfs fails). Installing works when I boot with 'set hw.ata.ata_dma=0', but then the build-in ethernet card and the pci ethernet cards do not work - they are recognized, but I can not configure them. Configuring the first installed ethernet card results in: Jul 4 12:05:45 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:05:46 last message repeated 7 times Jul 4 12:06:02 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:06:23 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout Jul 4 12:06:23 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:06:23 last message repeated 2 times Jul 4 12:06:35 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:06:51 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:06:53 last message repeated 5 times Jul 4 12:07:08 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:07:29 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout Jul 4 12:07:29 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:07:35 last message repeated 8 times Jul 4 12:07:42 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:08:03 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout Jul 4 12:08:03 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:08:03 last message repeated 2 times Jul 4 12:08:15 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:08:36 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout Jul 4 12:08:36 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:08:36 last message repeated 2 times Jul 4 12:08:48 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:09:08 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout Jul 4 12:09:08 /kernel: fxp0: DMA timeout Jul 4 12:09:08 last message repeated 2 times Jul 4 12:09:20 /kernel: fxp0: command queue timeout Jul 4 12:09:40 /kernel: fxp0: device timeout >How-To-Repeat: Happens every time, removing ethernet cards, memory and playing with the BIOS doesn't seem to change anything. Installing FreeBSD 4.5 doesn't work, too. >Fix: Installing OpenBSD 3.1 works and the Ethernet cards are usable - the chipset is not explicitly supported and runs in compatibility mode. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
