>Description:
can boot the FreeBSD 4.6-RELEASE CD, but partitioning the hard disk fails (can not swap to /dev/ad0s1b, newfs fails).
Installing works when I boot with 'set hw.ata.ata_dma=0', but then the build-in ethernet card and the pci ethernet cards do not work - they are recognized, but I can not configure them.
Configuring the first installed ethernet card results in:

>How-To-Repeat:
Happens every time, removing ethernet cards, memory and playing with the BIOS doesn't seem to change anything.
Installing FreeBSD 4.5 doesn't work, too.
>Fix:
Installing OpenBSD 3.1 works and the Ethernet cards are usable - the chipset is not explicitly supported and runs in compatibility mode.
