 This is hardly a FreeBSD per se problem, but an X configuration problem.
 99.9 there is no problem with you media.
 
 You should:
 - read Chapter 5 The X Window System from the FreeBSD Handbook
 - check the docs on the xfree86.org site.
 - ask on questions@freebsd.org * providing details * (X config file and
 error log + hardware details) as no one could guess what hardware and
 setting you have.
