The following reply was made to PR conf/76298; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Jaakko Heinonen <jh@saunalahti.fi> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, eo@shell-server.com Cc: Subject: Re: conf/76298: fstab doesn't pass mntops properly Date: Sun, 6 Apr 2008 10:48:57 +0300 In my opinion this is not a bug. According to fstab(5) manual page the fs_mntops field must contain at least the type of mount: The fourth field, (fs_mntops), describes the mount options associated with the file system. It is formatted as a comma separated list of options. It contains at least the type of mount (see fs_type below) plus any additional options appropriate to the file system type. See the options flag (-o) in the mount(8) page and the file system specific page, such as mount_nfs(8), for additional options that may be specified. Mount types are rw, rq, ro, sw and xx. Thus "-T" is not a valid fs_mntops field but "ro,-T" and "-T,ro" are. -- Jaakko
