Very sad. :-( I'm totally lost. Packet writing seems to never have gained much popularity in the UNIX world. My guess would be that multigigabyte harddisks and the availability of DVD-rewriters has something to do with it. I currently use dvd+rw-tools (growisofs) to burn DVD's.
