Hey Mike, welcome on the list here! I see you've got a lot of good comments on your problem there, so... nothing to add :) I'm using FreeBSD for a few months now, tried unsuccesfully a few Linux-distro before that (I managed to get VectorLinux working, but it was too slow for me :) ). I've tried OpenBSD and NetBSD also, but the amount of packages got me back to FreeBSD and the next thing I did is removing Window$. Haven't missed it yet :) The only thing I miss is my scanner, I do not get it to work (tried using Sane, but I guess my scanner is too old...). Not that I need my scanner that much, so... Tried to ask it on freebsd-questions but got no response :( Hope you continue liking FreeBSD, at least I will :) On Wednesday 23 April 2003 07:07 pm, Mike wrote: > I havn't seen any traffic on this list since I signed up for it so I > thought I would send a message in a bottle and see what comes back.I > have been using FreeBSD for a couple weeks and I really like it.I was > using Linux before so it was not much of a shock making the > switch.Actually I still have linux on another partition.I havn't booted > it in a while though. The only thing I havn't got working yet is my usb > quickcam express.I am using cvsup to update my sources and portupgrade > to compile the programs I am using.Last night I ran make world for the > first time.It was pretty cool. > > Mike
