I'm trying to add a CD-ROM reader to my 2.0.5 system but am not getting too far. The system uses a 486DX2-66 and a Maxtor 500MB drive. I acquired an old Future Domain 840 controller and modified the kernel to enable the sea0 controller. It seems okay with the controller when booting, but after the "waiting for scsi devices to settle" stage, I get errors from the driver: sea: arbitration timeout The CD-ROM drive spins up when the driver starts, but when it begins to poll for devices, the busy light comes on and stays on forever. Both the controller and drive are known good. I've tried changing the scsi id for the drive to no effect. Anybody got a clue where I can go from here? TIA... -Dave Babler
