However, the fact that this PR was only closed after one year, and the fact that basically FreeBSD is not interoperable with any other system I have access, *does* show that the current situation is undesirable. If you don't want to call it a bug, call it a misfeature, but, please, reopen the PR. (PR stands for problem report, and this definitely *is* a problem.)
