Simply download the kernel from ftp.kernel.org, and follow the instructions. You will also have to download and install the new netfilter software. If you are not comfortable doing all this, then perhaps someone on a LInux mailing list can help walk you through it. FreeBSD is a variant of UNIX. Although it has the same functionality as Linux, FreeBSD is more stable, better enginneered, and has a different development process.
