Hello With kernel 2.0.33 all work ok, but with a high version (2.0.34, ... 2.2.0) we have a problem: When I startup with a disk with kernel 2.0.34 or high the setup process stop with: Partition check: sda: sda1 sda2 sdb: <------ HERE STOP AND SAY reset . . . (SCSI:0:1:0) reset ... (a lot of) The computer is a DIGITAL PRIORIX XL server 5166 with 64 MB of RAM The devices NEC CD-ROM are in a external box. The rest devices are into computer. The following information has extracted from kernel 2.0.33 because I not boot from high versions: # "uname -r" : 2.0.33 ----------------------------------------------------------- # "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" : Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: SEAGATE Model: ST32550N Rev: 8108 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00 Vendor: SEAGATE Model: ST34520N Rev: 1206 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00 Vendor: NEC Model: CD-ROM DRIVE:465 Rev: 1.03 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00 Vendor: NEC Model: CD-ROM DRIVE:465 Rev: 1.03 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00 Vendor: SONY Model: SDT-5000 Rev: 3.30 Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00 Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CD-ROM XM-5401TA Rev: 3605 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Adaptec AIC7xxx driver version: 4.1.1/3.2.1 Compile Options: AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY : 15 AIC7XXX_TAGGED_QUEUEING: Enabled AIC7XXX_PAGE_ENABLE : Disabled AIC7XXX_PROC_STATS : Disabled ------------------------------------------------------------------- # "cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/0" : Adapter Configuration: SCSI Adapter: Adaptec AIC-7870 SCSI host adapter (AIC-787x chipset) Host Bus: Single Base IO: 0x8000 Base IO Memory: 0xc1000000 IRQ: 11 SCBs: Used 14, HW 16, Page 16 Interrupts: 5994 Serial EEPROM: False Extended Translation: Disabled SCSI Bus Reset: Enabled Ultra SCSI: Disabled Disconnect Enable Flags: 0xff with kernels 2.0.34 or higher I changed a lot of parameters in "make menuconfig - SCSI - SCSI low level" without results.
