The version in the ports directory on the website http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=ripit&stype=all shows ripit-2.0, so the port you have is outdated. For the most part, the ports are current, but they are being updated all the time so you sometimes need to download a more current one.
