This is the only way to pass the step after "mounting /" on my machine, so I couldn't even test non polling mode. So yes, I have to say "mee too" -- my machine needs the above switch to ISA routing to work at all and it doesn't reboot when I issue the three finger salute but stops instead. I've tried 4.4-RC[1245] and REL. 4.3 has *no* issues at all. Since I haven't yet installed 4.4 on the machine but worked from boot floppies and life CDs I couldn't test the patches you (Warner) posted lately. The machine is a no name notebook with a SiS630 chipset (PIII, builtin SiS900 NIC) and a TI PCIC bridge(term?). 4.3-RELEASE states: ... pcic-pci0: at device 8.0 on pci0 pcic-pci0: TI12XX PCI Config Reg: [ring enable][speaker enable][pwr save][FUNC pci int + CSC serial isa irq] pcic-pci1: at device 8.1 on pci0 pcic-pci1: TI12XX PCI Config Reg: [ring enable][speaker enable][pwr save][FUNC pci int + CSC serial isa irq] ... pcic0: at port 0x3e0 iomem 0xd0000 irq 9 drq 0 on isa0 pcic0: management irq 9 pccard0: on pcic0 pccard1: on pcic0 ... virtually yours 82D1 9B9C 01DC 4FB4 D7B4 61BE 3F49 4F77 72DE DA76 Gerhard Sittig true | mail -s "get gpg key" Gerhard.Sittig@gmx.net -- If you don't understand or are scared by any of the above ask your parents or an adult to help you.
