I noticed in the mail archives that there was a 2.2.6 problem (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=1909560+1912763+/usr/local/www/db/text/1998/freebsd-questions/19980510.freebsd-questions) in which the gctags were broken, and the fix (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=595181+0+/usr/local/www/db/text/1998/freebsd-questions/19980517.freebsd-questions) was to remove if from a Makefile. Is this still the case for 2.2.8-STABLE? And if so, what does not building gctags do to FreeBSD?
