I would like to use them as web servers, but the back-end database I'm trying to connect to is Oracle. There seems to be a problem here. After installing : instantclient-sqlplus-linuxAMD64-10.1.0.5.0-20060519.zip instantclient-basic-linuxAMD64-10.1.0.5.0-20060519.zip I tried installing perl DBD::Oracle from ports, but it will not install. I also tried to install it from CPAN, but it failed too many tests. I entertained the idea of re-writing everything in PHP, but I can't get that to install either. using PHP5-oci8... ===> Extracting for php5-oci8-5.2.0 => MD5 Checksum OK for php-5.2.0.tar.bz2. => SHA256 Checksum OK for php-5.2.0.tar.bz2. ===> Patching for php5-oci8-5.2.0 ===> Applying FreeBSD patches for php5-oci8-5.2.0 ===> php5-oci8-5.2.0 depends on file: /usr/local/oracle8-client/lib/libclntsh.a - not found ===> Verifying install for /usr/local/oracle8-client/lib/libclntsh.a in /usr/ports/databases/oracle8-client ===> oracle8-client-0.1.1_1 is only for i386, and you are running amd64.. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/databases/oracle8-client. *** Error code 1 Are there any work-arounds for getting DBD::Oracle working on AMD64?, PHP5-oci8? My friend Google didn't leave me feeling very encouraged... Please CC me as I am not on this list.
