The kernels don't even differ in the watchdog timer interval. :-O I just discovered that I actually managed to get the stupid #ifdef wrong so it was still using the 2 setting. What I ask myself now is: Why doesn't the previous kernel work, but the new one does ? I'll try and find differences in the configuration. In other words: please forget my previous ranting on the if_ed watchdog. Sorry for wasting your time on this. Bernard
