I was able to do a basic install using Walnut Creek FreeBSD 2.2.8. To connect on the Net, we use an NT server as a dialup and as gateway. We have 12 available IP addresses and when configuring Win95/Macs, we use the ff info, for example. PC: Pentium II 200 MMX RAM: 38 MB Motherboard: SiS 5598 NIC: 3Com 3c509b Etherlink III (aui/utp/bnc) PC IP Address: 200.111.112.36 Gateway: 200.111.112.33 (IP of the NT machine) Netmask: 255.255.255.240 Nameserver: 206.101.197.230 No problem setting up Win95 and Macs, but when I enter the same values when setting up the FreeBSD machine and reboot, I can't even ping the gateway. Upon boot I notice the ff: ifconfig: SIOCGIFMEDIA: Invalid Argument ep0: flags=8802 mtu 1500 ether 00:60:97:c5:e9:fb lo0: flags=8049 mtu 16384 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 writing to routing socket: network unreachable I got no sweat installing Slackware Linux 3.4 but I wanted FreeBSD because our webhost, pairNetworks ran exclusively on FreeBSD. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
