I'm trying to get my office PC, running freeBSD V2.1, to act a ppp server so that I can dial into from a Win95 PC and have access to the Internet. I followed the setup process as described in the handbook and that got me to the point where using dial-up networking on the Win95 I can ping and telnet to the freeBSD machine. Also the freeBSD machine is able to ping the Win95 PC and access the Internet when I'm dialed in. The problem is that the Win95 PC can not access any host beyond the freeBSD machine. It can't ping the default route for the freeBSD PC or access any sites on the internet. To me it seems that the freeBSD machine is just not set up to route incoming traffic on to it's default route properly.I've read through the questions database on the freeBSD web site and while it seems their have been many others with this problem I couldn't find the fix for my setup. Here is a bit of detail on my setup freeBSD PC Ethernet hookup to Internet (3c509) IP address = 204.233.15.150 hostname = g26.mtmc.edu default route = 204.233.15.1 name server = 204.233.15.1 running user ppp with [-dedicated] switch modem on com2 sysconfig setting gateway=yes Win95 PC Using Dial-Up networking with TCP/IP as the selected protocol IP address = 204.233.15.152 default route = 204.233.15.150 name server = 204.233.15.1 Once again, I can get the Win95 machine to hook up with ppp just fine. I can then telnet to the freeBSD server. I can not ping any other machines on our network or access the Internet. Any help is greatly apreciated. Wes Dorale Mount Marty College Network Administrator
