I read up a little further and realize that to do striping (RAID-0?) that all the partition have to be the same size. Now, since my 3 drives are all different size, this poses a problem/question. It says partition, I take that to mean the drives don't have to be the same size. So, if I take the lowest common denominator, which is my 5GB drive, and make partitions on all 3 drives that are the same size. Can I... Have a 15 GB vinum volume that is striped for /usr and then concatenate the left over on the other drives for maybe, something like /home. I my particular situation having a fast /usr or /usr/local would be of more benefit than having a faster /home. Does this make sense? Is it even worth the bother, or would I be better off just concatenating the 3 drives and have one huge /usr or /usr/local?
