Well, before you make that decision, have you considered upgrading to the latest version? What you're using (2.1.7.1) is pretty old, and there have been a lot of performance and stability improvements in the 2.2 branch. I recommend getting a recent snapshot of 2.2-Stable from current.freebsd.org. I built the world yesterday so I can vouch for the stability of the 11/24 snap.
