I was unable to connect to ftp://releng3.freebsd.org as staged in the handbook - I was theorizing that I could download that entire directory tree and burn it to a CD. Thankfully I have other ways to burn right now besides BSD, so I will be able to create the image before my cvsup if desired. Thank you all for your help, Ivan Fetch.
